About Us
The Village Cloth was founded by a mother for mothers. After having two beautiful children I wanted to live a healthier lifestyle, so I started minimizing plastic use, baking sour dough, and making more from- scratch meals. I basically became a “scrunchy mom.” I wanted to make the switch to natural- fiber clothing only but I came across two problems; either the clothing was way out of my price range or they weren’t size inclusive. So I decided to fill that gap by creating my own brand! I modeled my brand after a few core concepts; sustainability, safety, and community.
We believe that taking care of our planet and taking care of our own bodies are one in the same. We utilize only natural fabrics, like cotton and sustainably-made bamboo, but plan to expand to muslin and linen soon! All natural fibers naturally biodegrade, unlike synthetic fibers like polyester that break down into microplastics that leach into our drinking water.
Our factories are OEKO-TEX certified and our children’s pajamas are CPSC compliant because, as a registered nurse, safety and quality are always my number one priority!
We are on a mission to cultivate more than just a brand, but a community. Rooted in sustainability, we strive to offer comfort that nurtures not only the wearer but also the world we share. Through mindful creations, we want to empower mothers to feel good while remaining comfortable.
